We use gunite, a concrete blend made of sand, cement and water. It is similar to shotcrete (which also contains pea gravel), and it arrives at the job site in dry form before water is added to make the material wet.

We use pool plaster or marcite (also called white coat) on all Omni Pools. The key ingredients in our pool plaster are water, white cement, marble dust and additives that make it smooth. Our specialty tradesmen apply the wet material over the dried gunite shell. Once dry, the layer of plaster performs the critical job of waterproofing the pool structure. It also creates an attractive interior surface throughout the pool.

Your Omni Pools designer will measure your backyard and conduct a general survey of your overall property. They will also need a survey of your home to verify scale and measurements. (You should be able to find your home’s survey in the closing documents you signed when your home was purchased). 

We’ll talk about your vision for your new backyard and discuss available options such as the shape, dimensions and design features of your dream pool. We’ll also talk about finish materials and equipment options that can help automate care and save energy and water. 

We’ll also talk about your lifestyle, how you and your family plan to use the pool and discuss the conditions of your backyard. At this point, we’ll also discuss your overall target budget. 

Next, we will create a custom pool plan that includes a 3D rendering of your project so you can truly visualize your new backyard. We’ll go through it together, discuss any changes, and once the design and budget are agreed upon, we will move to the next step of the build process!
